Palazzo della Republica

-made of iron and glass but decidedly neoclassical

-and is a monument to the Italian republic

Monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi

-huge and imposing monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi

-neoclassical building

-which have huge paintings of Garibaldi and his most famous campaigns donated from the countries he liberated

-topped with truly gargantuan (109 m) column in mode of Trajan's Column

-column has scenes depicting great saga of Garibaldi's life

-at the top of the column, is statue of Garibaldi on horseback
